C.W. Bill Worley
C.W. Bill Worley founded the Anchor Insurance Agency, Inc. in 1954. Bill began his long career in insurance in the fire and casualty business, later adding contract bonds to his line.
In addition to his passion for helping his neighbors and community, Bill was an avid sports fan and loving family man. His wife, Mary, and his oldest daughter, Lisa, have carried on his business and still continue to run the company today.

Lisa Worley, President
Lisa Worley, CIC, ARM followed in her father's footsteps and became the President of the Anchor Insurance Agency, Inc. in 1991. She received the CIC designation in 1988 and the ARM designation in 1991. Lisa has served on the Alabama Independent Insurance Agents, Inc. Education, CIC, Small and Rural Agents, and Long Range Planning Committees. She is a past president for the Birmingham Executive Board and was named "Chairperson of the Year" by AIIA in 2003 and "Insuror of the Year" in 2004.
In addition to her work and family, Lisa somehow finds the time to be active in her community. She is a member of the Hoover Chamber of Commerce and Republican Committee and has also served as the President of the Alabama Parents Club of the United States Air Force Academy, which her daughter attended. Lisa is a dedicated member at Hunter Street Baptist Church where she teaches Sunday school and leads a ladies Bible study.

The Meaning Behind the Anchor
As a Navy Veteran of World War II, the anchor was very near and dear to Bill's heart. He saw the anchor as a sign of hope, strength, and stability and he wanted those same principles to carry on into his business.
As the anchor was often a seaman’s last resort in stormy weather, it was frequently connected with steadfastness and hope. The anchor became the symbol of Bill's agency and has continued to be so for over fifty years. The anchor remains firm and steady amidst the stormy waters, and the Anchor Insurance Agency continues to protect families and individuals from the general “storms” of life.
